Introducing Callum Smith, who has recently joined the team at Smith Broughton Auctioneers as a Sales & Valuations Cadet.

What does a typical day at work involve?

A typical day at work can involve travelling around the Perth metro area to view or value equipment for auction. While in the office, I am generally assisting customer enquiries and researching equipment to purchase or place into auction. I am always willing to help customers who come into our yard to find the equipment that they are searching for.

Who do you buy/ sell from?

I specialise in is small businesses such as transport companies, landscaping businesses & small earthmoving companies, as well as but not limited to farmers & truck drivers.

What kind of equipment do you personally sell at Smith Broughton Auctioneers?

I sell a large range of minor earth-moving machinery such as skid-steers, mini-excavators, forklifts, telehandlers and attachments, as well as all kinds of trucks, trailers and light vehicles.

Where can you travel to view stock?

Depending on what it is, I am always willing to travel around WA to view stock to value and potentially purchase.

What part of your job do you enjoy the most?

I think the thing I enjoy most about working at Smith Broughton Auctioneers is the relationships you build with customers and knowing that you are benefiting their business by either selling their idle equipment or finding the equipment they require for their next project.

I also really enjoy meeting new people, who come from all different backgrounds and work in a range of industries.

What do you enjoy when you’re not at work?

I really enjoy being outside, surfing and fishing. I am very competitive so I love my sport. I also enjoy catching up with my mates and travelling.
